Why we Farm

Why we Farm

While modern agriculture provides a large number of solutions, the outcome is not always the same because each farm is unique: different landscapes, soils, available technology and potential yields.

Waterfront Farm managers did their research and found out the following problems being experienced by consumers.

- Coping with climate change and biodiversity losses.

- Satisfying consumers' changing tastes and expectations.

- Meet rising population demand for higher quality human & animal foods.

- Low investment in innovative & modern farm productivity.

- Inspiring young people to stay in rural areas and become serious agribusiness farmers.

After conducting our research and identifying problems, Waterfront Farm agribusiness was established with the aim of improving local food production by implementing modern & sustainable agribusiness practices. Global agriculture is entering a transformative era and we must adapt and employ a suite of practices known as regenerative agriculture.

This is where modern agricultural practices meets traditional ways of farming. This farming focuses on regeneration of the soil and local ecosystems. It helps improve soil, delivers high & quality food productivity and helps fight climate change and restore lost biodiversity. Many of the key practices of regenerative agriculture involves intercropping, where multiple crops are planted together, agroforestry, and integrating livestock, At Waterfront Farm, we believe regenerative agriculture will underpin the transformation of our local food systems.
